Why I Love Weddings:
I love weddings because each wedding is a unique opportunity to document a bride and groom’s joy, hope, and love in pictures. I find it an honor to be the official “witness”, chosen to document celebrations of so many diverse cultures and lifestyles. My couples and their families are truly international and the embodiment of universal love. Weddings allow me to put all my skills to work with still-life pictures of rings, shoes, and gowns; portraits of the bride and groom, and photojournalism-style candid's that capture the day from bridal prep to bouquet toss. All that…. and the wedding cake too!
A Little Bit About Myself:
When I became a photographer, I shot on film. There was no photoshop to save me. I had to get it right in the camera, an approach I still follow today. I’ve always looked at the world through my camera. As a young teenager, photography intrigued me so much that I even had a darkroom in my parents’ basement. I went on to major in art in college, before spending four years assisting some of the finest photographers in the country. I traveled extensively and learned the ins and outs of my craft from these mentors. At the same time, I began shooting weddings for my friends and then for friends of friends. I’ve worked for wedding couples, international publications, and the hospitality industry. It’s been an amazing journey to earn a living doing something I love...and it’s far from over.
Videography/Photography Style:
My style is to put you at ease so you can enjoy your wedding while it’s happening and then have beautiful pictures to remember it by. I strive to create stunning images of your your day without making the entire day about taking photos.
Other Interests:
When time and weather permit, you can find me kayaking on the Hudson, biking along the trails of Westchester County, and sometimes savoring the rare pleasure of doing nothing at all. I have a loving family and a temperamental Siamese cat, and enjoy spending time with them all…usually.
