Why I Love Weddings:
I love weddings because the energy of love and happiness in the room is palpable; it is a celebration that truly brings people together. Showcasing my love for music with others is a rewarding
experience and resonates directly with me and how important family and friendships are. To be a part of these events and to do what I love in this world is priceless and keeps me motivated every time!
A Little Bit About Myself:
I was born and raised on the north shore of Long Island NY. Whether it's the beaches, nightlife, vineyards, or pizza, I could not imagine living anywhere else. Music infatuated me since I was little & I inherited my passion for it through my dad who was a drummer. I quickly became infatuated with Queen, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel and the Spin Doctors; as I got older, those tastes blossomed into a love for all genres from hip-hop and country to dance music. Starting as a DJ in clubs and small formal engagements, I quickly had a desire for more and to become a master of ceremonies. Soon after, I went on to work for the Long Island radio station 101.7 The Beach and would also begin a venture as a producer/writer and guest host of a successful monetized podcast.
Most Memorable Wedding Moment:
My most memorable wedding moment would be mixing Major Lazer’s Bumaye with Michael Jackson’s Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough. The songs are completely different tempos and vibes but at the right transition I adjusted the tempo and dropped MJ on the down beat surprising the dancefloor. Going from a current dance hit to one of the most classic dance records ever had a great crowd reaction and was a huge lesson for me early on that throwbacks are always the way!
How I Handle Music Requests:
Music requests are like life hacks for the DJ. No one comes before the bride and groom; It’s not a hassle but rather an opportunity to cater to the crowd and clients needs. It’s also a chance for me to gauge which direction my set goes. I thrive on multi-tasking and feeding off others energy so to me requests are essential and a green light to get the party going!
How I Get Guests Up And Dancing:
Crowd control, reading the floor, and mixing things up in my sets are always number one in getting guests engaged. I always aim to play as much variety as the bride & groom allow which enables me to hit many eras of music to cater to everyone at the reception, regardless of age or musical preferences!
When not DJing, you can find me working on my podcast. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and hitting Long Island beaches. I am an active person who stays busy playing basketball, working out, skateboarding, skim boarding, and going to parks with my golden retriever, Lucia.
