Why I Love Weddings:
I love shooting weddings for two reasons. One, it is so amazing to be an intimate part of a couple's happiest day of their life. Second, wedding videos are so similar to documentaries.
Not only are you capturing the excitement and nerves of the big day, but you're also capturing an artistic story as you film and edit.
A Little Bit About Myself:
I'm originally from Indiana, but I've spent most of my adult live traveling around Asia doing documentaries on sustainability. Recently, my home has been on the beautiful Eastern Shore of Maryland.
I have a degree in Video Production from Indiana University. After graduating, I moved to Beijing in 2013 to do documentary work. I've been featured on PBS, in front of the UN, for National Geographic Expeditions, and others.
Most Memorable Wedding Moment:
My most memorable wedding moment was the first time I filmed a wedding with the "anniversary dance." This is when married couples dance together and are eliminated as the DJ calls out the years they've been married.
I don't cry often at weddings, but it was such a beautiful testament to lasting marriages, and a super special moment for me as a videographer to capture.
When I'm not behind the camera, I enjoy traveling, backpacking, and singing/songwriting.
