My photographs have been selected for inclusion in several juried shows, including: 2010 Natural Wonders (image published), 2010 NJ ASMP Fine Art Photography Competition and Exhibition, and 2009 NJ ASMP Juried Portrait Competition and Exhibition; selected for 2011 Young Photographers Alliance Mentorship Program, NYC.

Short Bio

I moved to the Jersey Shore with my family when I was ten and instantly fell in love with the area. I knew right away that I would always feel connected to the shore. I even stayed pretty local (Philadelphia) when I went to college so that I could get back “home” as often as possible. I began my career by taking fine art photographs of my beloved Jersey Shore but soon a call from a family friend asking me to photograph his wedding changed my entire professional focus. I loved the energy of the celebration and was thrilled by the couples’ positive reaction to my work. I have been shooting weddings ever since and couldn’t be happier!

Why I Love Weddings

Every wedding is a wonderful and unique love story about two people who have pledged their futures to one another. What’s not to love about that? A wedding is the first step in that journey, and it is an amazing privilege to witness – and document – the love and promise they give each other, the support of their families and friends, and the choices they make to celebrate the occasion.
I respond to the energy and the excitement and sometimes think I enjoy my work day shooting the wedding as much as any of the guests. I never forget what an honor it is to be chosen by a bride and groom to photograph their special day and I take that responsibility very seriously.

A Little About Yourself

My name is Jon Sosnowski and I would love to photograph your wedding. I feel incredibly lucky that I can make my living doing something I enjoy and I will never take that for granted. I came to photography quite by accident, but I feel that it was meant to be. I entered college as a drawing and design major, but in my freshman year, on a whim, I took a photography course as an elective. I knew almost instantly that I would be changing my major! Since then, I always have a camera with me and I am always looking for stories to tell with it.

Tell Me About Your Photographic Style

For weddings, I like to use a combination of styles that meld together and provide a true representation of the day. To me, the most important thing is making sure you are happy and that you feel comfortable with my approach. There are some moments that call for traditional poses and others best captured with candid shots. It is my job to be in the right place at the right time to make sure I can catch every important memory: the look on the groom’s face when he first sees his bride, the look shared between the father and the bride as they begin their walk down the aisle, the perfect shot of the couple, as well as the treasured family portrait you will cherish forever. I hope my photographs of your wedding will ultimately represent who you are as a couple. My goal is to approach each wedding with energy, creativity and discretion, while at the same time producing imagery that is stylish, passionate and real.
