Why I Love Weddings:
I love weddings because it gives me the opportunity to make the Bride & Grooms’ day, along with their guests. Everything can go well at the wedding reception, but if the DJ is performing poorly, the whole reception is shot.

A Little Bit About Myself:
I am married with 4 children. I work as an Instructor for Con Edison in NYC. I’m a unisex hair stylist and massage therapist. I’m also an actor and voice over talent, along with being a DJ for about 12 years.

Most Memorable Wedding Moment:
The most memorable wedding moment is not that of a great one, but it certainly is a great topic for discussion. My partner & I were set and ready to go for a wedding reception which was to begin at 5 o’clock & end at 10 o’clock. The entire bridal party including the Bride & Groom did not arrive until 9:30. All the food was served family style with lightening speed and the guests were able to dance to one song; the last song.

How I Incorporate Music Requests:
I typically play by genres in groups of at least 3 songs in a row. If I’m doing a house music set, & someone requests salsa music, I’ll play the request as soon as possible as I see when the appropriate time to play it.

How I Get Guests Up And Dancing:
I use what I call a “failsafe technique.” For example: After the cocktail hour, I would bring all the guests to the dance floor and ask everyone: Does everybody here know one another? I usually here a bunch of no’s & yeses at which time, I’ll say: This is one love, introduce yourself to one another, and shake someone’s hand, let’s get together & feel all right. While I’m saying those words, I hit the play button and Bob Marley’s “One Love” begins to play and it has the same words I just spoke of. At this time, everyone is meeting & greeting one another. Before the song ends, I’ll start the electric slide and this get’s the dance floor started.

My DJ Style:
My DJ style is the style of the paying customer. What the customer wants, the customer gets. Most, if not all, businesses stay alive because they have paying customers. In order to keep the customer’s business, it’s very important to give them what their heart desires. Within reason of course.
