ABOUT THE ESTATE AT EAGLE LAKE

Located in Chesterfield, NJ, this historic garden venue is home to an underground bunker, a gorgeous lake and multiple outdoor spots. Only open from the third weekend in April to the second weekend in November, this lakeside hot spot is a coveted wedding venue. Along with the Estate itself, this property is comprised of a 6-acre lake and 25 acres of woodlands. HISTORY HOT SPOT

For most of the estate’s history, the estate itself was known as “The Bunker” by locals, and for good reason. Dating back to the 1970’s, Thomas Cousins etched out a special hillside spot for him to build his bunker into. The bunker included a courtyard with a secret tunnel, a radio tower, a green house, dog kennels and so much more. An estate home was supposed to be built across the lake on the hill, but unfortunately the owner passed away from a heart attack before it was ever built.

From that point on, the estate was actually abandoned until a young entrepreneur saw the property for sale and saw all that it could be! A white sand beach was created by the lakeside. A perennial garden was erected in replace of the weedy fields. The estate was being resurrected, and people certainly noticed.

After 18 years, the property was sold again, and the Estate at Eagle Lake was officially completed. It opened its doors to the public for events such as weddings, Fourth of July celebrations, and private lakeside parties. It’s no surprise that the rich history of this property is one of the many things that makes it so enticing to rent out. The rest went down in history!

Picture this… your day starts early on with time to take a breather and go exploring before guests are anxious to see you. The simple charm of the ceiling draping is accompanied by stunning chandeliers. A couple can choose a table type (circular or rectangle) as well as centerpieces used. This 3000-square foot area is sure to leave everyone in a dancing mood!

KEEPING THE LOVE ‘REEL’ BY THE LAKE!

You’re on lake time! When a couple decides to share their lakeside ‘I Do’s’ here, they are renting out the property for the entire day. Open 8 am to 11 pm, couples can utilize the vast property from start to finish. Whether it be catching rays on the white sand lakeside beach, or simply enjoying a fire pit, couples have full use of the incredible amenities!

One of our couples, Michelle and Nicholas, took full advantage of the stunning backdrops for their Estate at Eagle Lake wedding photos and video. WEDDING WOW’S

Wowing your guests is what this estate does best! Another share-worthy couple that really ‘wow-ed’ us was Maria and Blade. It was a beautiful day at one of the most romantic wedding venues in NJ. The beautiful outdoor spaces with the lake as a background created the perfect setting for the ceremony. Maria fascinated everyone as she walked down the aisle with her father. Soon after, the bride and groom promised eternal love for each other, said theirs I Do’s and exchanged rings before being pronounced husband and wife! You definitely do not want to miss reading their full story!

Angela and Kevin also had a beautiful outdoor ceremony. The guests witnessed the beautiful declarations of love that the bride and groom made through their vows. At the reception, the place was beautifully decorated, and the newlyweds made their grand entrance holding hands. It was a magical night, full of love, laughter, and of course, delicious food. This wedding was stunning and had guests in awe (and us, too!) of both the couple and the venue.
